FAQs

  • Uplifting. Can cause creativity. May cause motivation, get ready to move, depending on the strain. Varying levels of THC.

Can be used for nighttime for people with adverse effects. Typically contains higher THC levels and lower CBD, resulting in “mind-based effects”.

The Sativa plant can grow up to 20 feet tall and very wide if it is in the right growing conditions and has a growth cycle of 10-16 weeks depending on the strain. The leaves are a lighter green, with longer and more narrow leaves than the Indica plant. The Sativa plant is thought to have originated from the Himalayan Region.

Examples of sativa strains at our cannabis store in Muskoka: Ultra Sour, Blue Dream, Pineapple Express

  • Chill weed. Versatile, you can use Indica for daytime or nighttime use, depending on the strain. Relaxing and sedative has been known to increase arousal and appetite. Indica generally contains lower levels of THC and higher levels of CBD, resulting in more of a “body high”.

Ever hear of the strain of Hindu Kush? The Indica plant is thought to have originated from the Hindu Kush region in India, where they first grew the plants for its trichomes to make hash. The Indica plant was also used for a variety of resources as well as trade back in the day. The plant itself will grow to be about 6 feet tall (and taller) and can get pretty wide if you take care of it. The leaves can be a darker green and are normally a bit wider than the Sativa plant and the Indica plant generally has a shorted growth cycle compared to its sister.

  • Did you know that almost all cannabis plants are actually considered Hybrids. It has been found that over time, growers have altered many of the plants and strains genetics, for various reasons; such as to produce a higher THC content, enhance flavour, create shorter growth cycle etc. Hybrid plant/s are a combination of various strains that have been bred together by growers. Which offers a variety of options to choose from, like:

    CBD Dominant / leaning

    Sativa Dominant /leaning

    Indica Dominant/ leaning

    ETC.

Hybrid strains are great when one is looking to purchase in larger formats because the strains generally function as an all day strain.

  • The original wild species which are native to their region’s, naturally growing cannabis strains, are referred to as Wild Species. Landrace or Land Race strains were selected from the Wild Species by a farmer and or community (about 10,000 years ago), handpicked and selected for domestic use.

Land Race strains evolved to most effectively thrive in their local microclimates. These strains form the genetic framework for modern/ domesticated cannabis strains, resulting in different morphological characteristics / effects and taste. They have also not been mixed or bred with any other strain, keeping their original genetics.

Examples of Landrace strains to keep an eye out for:

Hindu Kush, G-13, Mazar, Acapulco Gold, Sour Diesel, Maui Wowie, Afghani and one of the most sought after and oldest strains is Malawi Gold

  • Famous and Classic Strains or Land Race Strains like, Green Crack (Kush), Pink Kush, Sour Diesel, Blueberry, White Widow are aromatic, beautiful, sometimes named by their country of origin or flavour and provide the base genetics for many popular strains that are enjoyed to this day. We love classic strains at our cannabis store in Muskoka.

  • Natural Isolated cannabinoids are originally from the cannabis plant, they are extracted using a chromatography purification process (there are other extraction processes as well) which provides a 99% purity of the cannabinoid extracted. This is how we have individual cannabinoids from the cannabis plants, like CBD, CBN, THC, etc.

Fun fact: There are many other plants that we consume every day that have cannabinoids in them that are similar to cannabis. Like: Dark chocolate, whole peppercorns and flax seed just to name a few.

  • Just as it sounds, experience a balanced effect with a product containing the same measurement of THC and CBD.

  • Normally referred to as the “sleepy cannabinoid”. An isolated cannabinoid extracted from the cannabis plant. CBN is also the breakdown of the cannabinoid THC ( aka miss-stored green), so if you store your cannabis improperly your THC will deteriorate into CBN…

  • Usually referred to as the mother of all cannabinoids. During the vegetative stage of the cannabis plant’s growth CBG is the first cannabinoid created within the plant. CBG is what creates all of the other cannabinoids during the growth cycle of the plant. There is a ton of research currently on this cannabinoid as it is found to be non-intoxicating and holds many unique benefits.

  • THC is the psychoactive component of cannabis, or what provides the sensation of feeling, “high”. The cannabinoid THC is not actually found in the cannabis plant, its predecessor is THC-A. The cannabinoid THC-A (A is for acidic) changes or is converted to THC when dried, cured and decarboxylated (or activated or heated up).

Our store has a wide variety of THC ranges to choose from.

  • CBD is considered to be non-intoxicating and not overly psychoactive. Research has shown though that it can have an effect on your mind and body. It has been found that CBD works best when taken with a very low dose of THC, as THC will help carry the CBD to your appropriate internal receptors. CBD has been found to increase our own endogenous cannabinoids within us. As well, it could help reduce the high if you have taken too much THC.

When taking CBD, keep in mind that for it to work at its full potential you have to take it daily and the full effects are usually not felt right away, it normally takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Journaling is a great way to keep track of using CBD and how it makes you feel. If you need help with CBD visit us at our cannabis store in Port Sydney and we will be happy to help in a safe and comfortable environment.

  • The Green Bouquet Cannabis Inc. encourages safe responsible use. Don't green out… Start Low and Go Slow. Cannabis affects everyone differently. Creepers are smokables & edibles that may have a delayed, overwhelming psychoactive effect, always be aware of your consumption level. If this is your first time, starting with a 10% CBD/THC strain may be a decent choice. Activation levels are variable. Correct dosage for you will depend on, weight, how much food you consumed prior to consumption and your metabolic rate, plus so much more.

*TIP: Write a diary:) The only way to know how cannabis will affect you is to consume a small amount and note the effects.

  • Trichome Coverage :

Trichomes aka crystals contain cannabinoids, terpenes and much more. They are what makes your bud sticky.

    Well-Trimmed :

A well-trimmed bud should not have extra leaves or stems. The best trimming job is usually done by hand and with a careful eye. You want to have the bigger leaves trimmed, and the bud undamaged during the process.

    Feel :

How does your bud bust open, a well-cured bud should bounce back like memory foam. It should feel a little sticky, and not feel dry.

    Colour:

Cannabis can come in a variety of colours, all depends on the strain of phenotype of the plant. Colours are usually brought out in the plant during the growing cycle, they can be purple, pink, blue, etc. Pistols, sugar leaves and fan leaves usually hold the most colours in the cannabis plants.

    Smell:

Cannabis should have a fresh smell that you can detect easily. Each strain will have its own bouquet or different terpene profile. You do not want your bud to smell of hay or like a dry basement as those are smells of mold or chemicals that say, do not consume me, I have not been brought to my full potential.

    Taste:

Good cannabis should taste fresh, here are some of the flavours found in the strains that we carry.

Berry, Chemical, Earthy, Fruity, Menthol, Skunky, Sweet, Woody, Cheesy, Citrus, diesel, nutty, pungent, spicy, herbal, tropical, Floral.

  • Another thing that you can watch for when smoking cannabis is what colour your ash is at the end of your joint. A well-grown and cured bud should burn almost white. Even if it burns and has a salt and pepper colouring, you doing ok. It’s when ash burns black that you should maybe take a second guess at what you are smoking.

Why is the colour of your ash important? Well, when it burns black, it could be telling you that there may be chemicals that were not flushed out of the plant properly during the growth cycle or that you are not using the best rolling papers. If you coughing a lot and your throat is burning, that’s another thing to keep in mind, your body is telling you that its maybe not the best green.

  • Cannabis can be cured into many forms, with one being “Hash” which is the shortened word for “Hashish”. Hashish means, “grass” in Arabic.

Hashish began its worldwide spread in the 10th century, it was shared by Indian traders as a commodity. From here the Europeans got introduced to hash in the 18th century. In the 20th century, Morocco became the hash capital of the world.

Moroccan hash is renowned for its quality to this day. Afghanistan is a well-known producer of tasty hash. Today with the legalization increasing in countries such as Canada and the US are becoming better known for their hash production.

  • Bubble Hash:

The buds of the cannabis plant are dried, then passed through ice and pressed to make bubble hash, this is probably the most common way to make hash.

    Kief:

Kief is the cannabis particles (the crystals) that fall off the plant during any type of movement like what you find at the bottom of a grinder.

    Sift:

The refinement of kief, more particles are separated, it is put through a very fine sift screen(almost like flour through a sifter) the resin heads become separated from the Keif and more quality resin heads are captured.
